So after growing it for something like two years, I decided to cut my hair a week ago. It was an experiment and the cons outweighed the pros so I had to relent.

But it was not all for nothing! When I started growing my hair, I had all intentions of donating it to charity if I ever decided to part with it. Last Friday I sent the 11" bundle off to Locks of Love, which helps children suffering from hair loss. Having had an awfully thick (and luxurious) head of hair, I'm sure it'll make at least two kids happy.

Received Vosges' bacon dark chocolate bar for Valentines Day (in addition to the real gift, which was a Viking sword!). This stuff's great. I don't know why everyone is so repulsed by the idea. Just think about it. Crunchy little bacon bits in rich dark chocolate.

Not doing it for you? Well, that just means more for me!

Here is another semi-speed paint that I just finished. It's an event from my childhood that never really occurred (but in all honesty, probably could have happened).

Done in Photoshop using a malfunctioning tablet. Since it's a speed painting, this is the original size / resolution.

Not sure when I'm going to start another legit digital painting since this computer is giving me all sorts of trouble when painting at super-duper resolutions. Awful brush lag.

Just finished this sci-fi concept painting (Photoshop + WACOM tablet). I can't really call it a speed painting because it took about 3 hours. I kind of went in there without a battle plan, starting with the rock formation on the right, then onto the grass, and added the city as an afterthought.

I was going to add a little village at the base of the river, but my computer was hanging up the entire time so I basically said "to hell with this" and wrapped it up.

I finally got around to formatting blog comments to my liking. You may notice a bar at the bottom of the screen with log in and password fields. Yes, that's new.

REALLY?

I'm about the furthest thing from a loyal Apple fan, but even I expected something, well, NEW given all of the tech blog speculation and the cloak of secrecy surrounding this thing. There hasn't been a hype-letdown event quite like this one in a while. This is on par with Y2K. Rumors of Project Natal style motion sensing or at the very least, a revolutionary input mechanism, were all met with utter disappointment.

According to Steve Jobs, the iPad is a gadget that will render netbooks obsolete. Obsolete, the man says! Let's see how that pans out with the following typical computing scenarios:

You want to listen to music while surfing the internet.
● Netbook: Yes.
● iPad: No. Seriously.

You want to watch Hulu or play Flash-based games on Facebook
● Netbook: Yes.
● iPad: No Flash on the most revolutionary internet device ever conceived by man or machine.

You want to access files from a thumb drive.
● Netbook: Yes.

I'm about a good decade or so behind, but I've just started watching. I don't really do sitcoms, but this show is pretty damn funny. For those who haven't seen NewsRadio, it's a mid-90's sitcom about a NYC AM news station. I know, it doesn't sound that funny, but I assure you it is. Cast includes some notables including Phil Hartman, Andy Dick, and Joe Rogan. Hulu skips a ton of episodes so I'm going to have to Netflix this.

Still midway through the second season and it keeps getting funnier. However, there's one thing that bugs the crap out of me while I'm watching and that's wondering how they handle Phil Hartman dying mid series. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Bacon BarBacon Chocolate. I find myself curiously drawn.

Vosges makes some excellent chocolate, but I haven't had the chance to pick this one up. Their Matcha and various Chili chocolates are incredible, though.

Wondering out loud here, perhaps they stock this over at the Healthy Living Market. I know they do at Whole Foods, but they don't have any stores in Vermont at the moment (they're planning on it!).
