I added a convenient quote request form to the site which can be accessed from the Pricing menu item on the right or through a link on the Services page. This should make the initial quoting process a lot easier.

I've been doing a bit of research on my netbook and it turns out that there's a pretty sizable mod community for these Dell Mini's. One site in particular, <a href="http://www.mydellmini.com" title="www.mydellmini.com">www.mydellmini.com</a>, seems to have a very active forum with a number of well put together how-to guides. I am thinking of cracking open the Dell and doing a memory upgrade when I have a little extra money. It's around $25 for a good 2GB stick and while it requires a complete disassembly, it doesn't seem TOO daunting.

Just got back in town today after a lengthy vacation. I'm ready for 2010.

I've been here at my parents' house for the holidays. My mother keeps the radio on all day to provide background noise or something. It's usually tuned to the pop station down here (I believe Z100).

I swear to god this station rotates between the same three songs. I am not being sarcastic or funny. Because it's not funny. I left to walk my dog with that "One Two Three" song playing. I came back twenty minutes later and the song was still playing. Either "One Two Three" is some sort of half-hour progressive pop-opera or they played the same exact song within the span of thirty minutes. I am almost certain it is the latter.

Z100's listener base must lack the intellectual wherewithal to keep track of more than a handful of songs. I can't even classify them as legitimate songs. It's all garbage, probably composed by a versificator to keep the masses enslaved. Congratulations, ECHELON, it's working: "One Two Three" has successfully restructured my neural topology.

Prior to owning one, I never really understood the appeal of netbooks. Tiny, underpowered laptops. What's the target demographic for these devices?

I am proud to say that I have finally figured out the answer to the above question: Desktop users!

It actually makes a lot of sense.

Netbooks are targeted at people like me who prefer work on a desktop but would like a compact computing device to take on a plane, play Peggle on the crapper, check e-mail in bed, etc. I don't need a 17" screen and a quad-core processor to do these things.

I foolishly tried the "performance" laptop thing in order to do work on-the-go. I quickly found out that I was not nearly as productive on a laptop due to the physical limitations of the device. It really is true what they say about extra monitors and productivity, especially when doing anything graphics/multimedia related. On top of that, having slightly over one hour of battery life kept me pretty much tethered to an outlet. Oh, and I don't think they can really be considered laptops if they run so hot as to sear the flesh on your lap.

So netbooks are great and definitely have their place in the world of gadgets. Thanks mom.

I am effectively MIA until January 4th or so. I will be in NJ with the family doing things families do during Christmas / New Years. I have been looking forward to the annual Peter Luger Christmas Eve steak dinner since the moment I stepped out of Peter Luger last Christmas Eve.

I will still check and respond to e-mails when I can. Happy Holidays!

Yes, it's that time again.

I tossed the old, difficult-to-update Flash site in favor of a Drupal-based page chock full of nifty graphics and CSS. Although I miss the fun animations, I think visitors will much appreciate the clean, easily navigable new format.

Though it was a pretty straightforward affair, I did learn a few things along the way:
<ul>
<li style="list-style-type:circle">A newfound RAGE for Internet Exploder</li>
<li style="list-style-type:circle">Firebug plugin for Firefox saves lives</li>
<li style="list-style-type:circle">Drupal is great and worth the time investment</li>
<li style="list-style-type:circle">Zen starter theme is indispensable</li>
</ul>
I'm not sure why Microsoft, with its infinite resources, cannot assemble a browser that renders margins properly. IE's "quirks" added about 50% more to the development time. On the upside, refreshing the page in IE and having everything line up perfectly was a great feeling.
